Who am I?
A simple young woman who finished her Master’s degree in Sociology of Religions almost one year ago. A question I usually get straight after giving this small piece of information is « Why religion? Are you a believer? ». Rather the contrary. Indeed, how could I possibly study and be interested in religions (the plural forms is very important here) if I personally have my preference, if I think one is truer than the others, if I decide one divinity is more probable to exist than the other? No, definitely not. My wish to study religions, to understand the way human beings deal with them on a social, political and cultural level, is originally a wish to understand the Other. And I think it’s the same approach when you leave your homeland, take a plane and land in an unknown country. As a matter of fact, like I often read about religions, I also often take a plane and go looking for the Difference, the Unknown, the New.
I integrated my love for traveling in my studies, and always tried to find time and money to quench this thirst. Also very attracted by Art in general, I studied and practiced it for a long time: I learned painting, drawing, and playing the cello. Feeling overwhelmed very often, when standing in front of a breath-taking view, or reading the memoir of a famous photographer, or even looking at a painting in a small gallery in Berlin, part of my mind wants to create something. I sometimes take a pen, start a novel, but then give up because of a “lack of time”. And I’m full of ambitious desires to paint, take photography lessons, learn a new instrument, trying to write music… But of course, in one day there are only 24 hours, in one week only 7 days and in one month only 31 days, sometimes even less!
This website allows me to accomplish part of these dreams, as it combines photography, writing and painting.

Why this website?
Recently, it came to my mind that all the travels I have made were gifts I couldn't selfishly keep to myself any more. You gather memories, bring back souvenirs to your close family, collect thousands of pictures that stay on your laptop indefinitely, learn new languages, and even multiply the friendships all over the globe. But then, you remain the only person who actually enjoys those memories and look at the colorful pictures when nostalgia takes you. This had to change, I thought, and decided to offer fragments of these experiences to all people who would be interested : in other words, You.
You will mostly find pictures and personal comments on my own experiences in different areas of the world, along with more general and objective information about them. But, as an Art amateur, you will also come across drawings or paintings. As awesome and wide as the Internet is, it is obviously impossible to tribute to the richness a travel embeds. But it can however offer you something infinite: the desire to travel and discover by yourself. I hope my World of Wander will fulfill this very aim, and that it will inspire you to undertake your own travel experiences.

How to find your way in the World of Wander?
Very simple. Everything is organized in continents, so you can choose one of them and see the countries I've visited so far. Of course a lot of countries are missing in my check list. I was about to write "even though I wish I had visited all of them", but it actually would be a sweet lie: I am very happy to have so many left, so that I can look forward to new adventures and new discoveries.
I had to make frustrating choices regarding which photos to present and what to write about it. I want to offer a stimulating website and refuse to fall into boring and endless explanations, and to drown you in countless pictures. I hope you will appreciate the choices I made and will find them relevant.
Enjoy your wander!
